License Plate Map of the United States
This is the first, most complex, and most rewarding license plate map I've done out of expired vintage license plates. A piece like this takes around 100 hours to complete. Each state is cut individually using a colorful plate from the 1960s, 70s or 80s (they are the boldest and have raised letters, which I like) and then affixed to some old distressed wood with nails and glue (for the small states.)
Pieces like this can cost upwards of $3,900 by some artists. In fact, it was a piece similar to this that got me started in this hobby, and it listed for around $3,500.
